This high-level, broad-spectrum position is primarily responsible for advancing our corporate safety culture throughout the organization. Essential Duties & Responsibilities Lead the implementation and compliance of health and safety standards across construction, environmental, and service-based operations. Report to the Chief Operating Officer and collaborate with corporate leaders and subsidiary teams to promote a proactive safety culture. Drive the launch and integration of the company’s updated behavioral-based safety program across a workforce of 2,600+ employees nationwide. Develop, manage, and enforce a system of regular safety audits in coordination with subsidiaries. Provide real-time safety recommendations to mitigate risks and ensure compliance with OSHA, EM 385-1-1, and other regulatory bodies. Conduct and document field audits; follow up to ensure corrective actions are implemented. Maintain and monitor subsidiary safety documentation, training records, and incident logs. Lead the planning and budgeting for the corporate safety training program. Conduct and oversee safety trainings, including OSHA, CPR/First Aid/AED, fall protection, confined space, and other high-risk areas. Evaluate safety personnel performance and support recruitment efforts as needed. Travel frequently to project sites across the U.S. and internationally. Qualifications - Experience, Education And Certification To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill and/or ability required. Required (Minimum Necessary) Qualifications Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH). Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Safety, Environmental Health, or related field. 15+ years of progressive safety leadership experience, with 10+ years in government contracting or USACE/NAVFAC settings. 5+ years managing safety across multiple divisions or subsidiary companies. 5+ years of experience with environmental mitigation strategies. OSHA 500 Trainer; CPR/First Aid/AED/BBP certified trainer. Ability to obtain and maintain Secret or Top-Secret security clearance if required. Experience with EM 385-1-1 standards. Competent Person Trainer for fall protection, scaffolding, trenching, and confined space. Proficient in Microsoft Office and safety management software. Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, And Other Characteristics Direct responsibility for contract compliance in government projects (NAVFAC, USACE, Army, AFCEE as well as current federal regulations) Experience developing and implementing Safety Management Systems at a corporate level Experience developing corporate safety policies Experience developing and maintaining Corporate and Site-Specific Safety Plans Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics Proven written and verbal communication abilities Ability to work independently and as part of a team Must be able to travel 25%+ of the time Travel domestically and internationally to office and work site locations Serve as a role model, mentor, and promoter of safety professional behavior Preferred Master’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field. Military or law enforcement background. Previous experience as a Safety Director.
