Pride Health is hiring a Cytotechnologist to support our client in Detroit, MI . In this role, you will prepare, stain, and microscopically examine cytological specimens to detect structural abnormalities and support diagnostic decision-making. You will rotate through technical processing, screening, and assist with Fine Needle Aspiration (FNA) procedures, while adhering to CLIA 88 standards.

  Key Responsibilities:
  • Screen gynecological and non-gynecological cytology specimens, primarily PAP smears using ThinPrep imager.
  • Issue diagnostic reports for negative cases and route abnormal findings for pathologist review.
  • Rotate through various lab functions, including technical processing and FNA adequacy assessments.
  • Correlate cytological findings with surgical pathology reports.
  • Maintain accurate records, workload documentation, and instrument maintenance logs.
  • Participate in the lab’s quality improvement and CME programs.
  • Assist in training students, residents, and new employees.
  • Communicate results to clinicians and provide courteous customer service.
  • Follow safety and compliance standards at all times.
Qualifications:

Required:

  • Bachelor’s degree from a CAAHEP-accredited program in Cytotechnology.
  • ThinPrep Imaging and ThinPrep certification.
  • 2024 or 2025 proficiency testing results required (if starting after May 13).
  • Ability to sit for extended periods and utilize a microscope with precision.
  • Strong visual acuity, color perception, and attention to detail.

Preferred:

  • At least 3 years of cytotechnology experience .
  • FNA adequacy assessment experience.
